I’ve circumnavigated the Aubreid five times in text, and now halfway through via the sonorous tones of Patrick Tull. One disadvantage I find is right along your lines of the “Bankers are Hoares” misunderstanding. During my first couple of voyages I kept a volume of Dean King’s *A Sea of Words* next to me at all times. Listening to the story in audiobook form largely deprives me of this benefit. When Steven slips into French, Spanish, or Latin, I am all asea and missing whatever is being said.
